Gullfoss, Iceland

Powerful and massive, Gullfoss roars as the waters crash down on the canyons rocks in the heart of the Golden Circle.  The impressive volume of flowing water creates mist and momentum forcing a cold, windy vacuum that blows down the valley chilling me to the bone as we hike along the top of the valley.  The sound is incredible and the views stunning.

We hiked around to the top of the cliffs edge along the river and back before descending to the banks of the river and back up the lower wall to waters edge for a closer look at the falling waters. It took about an hour as the hike was very refreshing with the mist and the sun making for a surreal experience. Look out for rainbows and spend some time admiring the valley and falls of Gullfoss.
