Hofn, Icelend

Hofn is a quaint little fishing village on the south east coast of Iceland. It’s worth a quick spin through and a stop at the dock for a look a the days catch.  Hofn is small but offers a tiny hub for community with a few restaurants and the port.  Across the bay you can see some great views of the glacier Skaftafell.  Loads of ling cod and various fish are caught and brought to market here on the docks facing the north Atlantic ocean.  The six and a half hour drive from Reykjavik is a beautiful dreamlike island adventure full of intensely dramatic volcanic events creating scenery like no other making the journey about as good as it gets for nature lovers, amateur volcanologists, casual tourists and suspicious urban dwelling skeptics alike.
