Olives are great for parties, can be made ahead of time and are easy to set out to let guests savour at any temperature. The fancy olives can get expensive but you can just use a can of black or green olives and some TLC to get the same effect! Here’s how…
1 or 2 cans pitted olives – black
2 cloves of garlic – minced
2 T crushed red pepper flakes or about 4 chilis
1-2 T fresh chopped parsley
Olive Oil
Salt
Pepper
-Toothpicks for serving*
Combine the ingredients and let marinate for at least an hour.
Pour the mix into a bowl and stab a few with toothpicks, make sure to leave an extra plate for the used picks! Enjoy!
*Store up to 2 weeks, use the extra juice for salads*
Options/ Substitutes
*If you want more tangy and less spicy add slices of fresh lemon and some lemon juice to the mix instead of the pepper flakes*
*Cannellini white beans can be prepared the same way, separately for more protein*
